Bio I attended medical school at Stanford University and did my residency at the University of California at Davis. My fellowship was at Stanford University School of Medicine. I have board certification in Internal Medicine and Nephrology.

More details about my specialty: In addition to being on the Nephrology team at Kaiser Santa Rosa, I am also the Medical Director of WellBound. WellBound focuses exclusively on self-care dialysis therapy options for people with chronic kidney disease (CKD). My current focus is on home dialysis because once patients are trained, they are able to perform their dialysis treatments at home where they are most comfortable. And, many home dialysis patients dialyze more often than in-center patient, so the blood gets cleaner and leaves patients feeling better. As Medical Director, I also spend a lot of time attending seminars, reading academic journals, and publish our monthly newsletter.
Interests
For the past 7 years, my wife and I have done section hiking on the Appalachian trail. This means that every year we hike a different section until we have completed the 2,175 mile trail that extends from Georgia to Maine. We tend to hike several hundred miles each year and so far we have made it to Pennsylvania.
Family & Friends
People in my life: My wife and I live in Santa Rosa with an assortment of pets. We have three rescued greyhounds named Tommy, Chase and Bruce. They were former race dogs that would have been put down after their racing careers. Initially, it was my wife who was appalled at the notion of these dogs losing their lives. I have to say they are really great pets. We also have three horses - Chance, Jimmy and Bear.

Travel
An adventure I've had: One of my best memories was when I celebrated my 40th birthday. I decided there was no better place to go than the home of golf --- St. Andrews in Scotland. I am an avid golfer so this was the best type of birthday I could have.
